About

Alex believes the best way to pass your yoga practice on to your children is to do your practice.

And for Alex's mom, it happened exactly like that. Alex grew up watching her mother practice sun salutations (surya namaskaaram) every morning and legs-up-the-wall (vipareeta karani) at the end of each day. By 2003, Alex had developed her own practice and never looked back. She practiced Iyengar Yoga and meditation regularly while working as a sportswriter in Georgia, and she loved every chance she got to practice at Holy Cow Yoga Center while returning to Charleston to visit her family. Eventually, Alex felt a strong pull to move back to Charleston, and was once again drawn to the Holy Cow community after visiting numerous studios during her travels. Long feeling the urge to teach the practice she loved, Alex graduated from Holy Cow's five-month 200-hour teacher training program in 2013. Alex sees yoga and meditation as a way to raise the universal vibration and consciousness and recognize the peace we feel inside as our true selves. It is from this place that we can create our best lives. Alex is grateful to all of her inspiring teachers (past, present, and future) and is truly honored to be a part of Charleston's first yoga studio.
