About
I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and have been practicing yoga since 2011.
I live wholeheartedly, which is at the core of my yoga teaching philosophy. For me, yoga is about fun. I believe that practicing yoga is an opportunity to move our bodies in a purposeful, but playful way to increase our overall health and wellbeing. The lineage I teach from is based on the B.K.S. Iyengar. I am trained in a variety of yoga styles, which also includes breathing, meditation, energy movement techniques, and yoga for first responders and firefighters. I teach Vinyasa, Power, Hot 26, Yin, Yoga Nidra, and FireFlex classes. My story… “Have you tried hot yoga? You need to come to yoga with me…I know you’ll love it.” This was an invitation from my dear friend, Steph, in the fall of 2011, and was the beginning of my yoga journey. At this time, I was climbing the corporate ladder at a prominent financial company in Milwaukee, WI and didn’t really feel like I had the time to start something new. I had dabbled in yoga in the past and liked it, but not enough to attend regular classes. My first hot yoga class was different, though—it sparked genuine curiosity about yoga and a “I can’t wait to go back” feeling. I started with a 30-day trial membership, which quickly turned into a three-day a week practice. I started to rush to leave work to get to classes (I call this, “hurry up to relax”), and very quickly, I realized yoga was more than just something I did. It was part of me. The pandemic accelerated my practice from a few days a week primarily focused on Hot 26, to a daily practice that includes a variety of yoga styles and meditation. In 2023, I received my 200-hour RYT certification. When I am not at the studio, you will find me spending time with my husband, kids, family, & friends, walking my dogs, gardening, biking, or scuba diving. And, if you see me, ask me about my unusual love of sticky notes. Check out my LinkedIn profile for my “other” work. :) Amii LaPointe is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
