About
My training at Anamaya (Montezuma, Costa Rica) with pioneering yoga teacher, and founder of the Taoflow Yoga system, Cain Carroll, has taught me the importance of the concept, “Living Yoga,” and I try to live by this ayurvedic philosophy. I consider Yoga not only as a physical activity, but a lifestyle.
My interests lie in a powerful, energetic practice, using graceful flows, attention to breath, combined with intention-setting, and a tranquil soundtrack, to ensure presence and joy in each moment on the mat. I am trained and able to teach classes that range from basic pranayama methods, beginning to intermediate Asana classes, including Vinyasa flow, Hatha, Surya Namaskara Intensive, Restorative, Prenatal, and Children’s Yoga. As a combat veteran, I am also extremely aware of how yoga can help restore the mental and physical health of veterans who are struggling to cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), along with many other military service related injuries, stress, anxiety, or depression. I am certified through the Yoga Warriors International organization, and have volunteered to teach free yoga sessions to a wide range of people associated with the military (disabled veterans, actively-deployed combat veterans, retired veterans, Special Forces, as well as veterans' spouses and children) since 2010.
