Brittany Merritt Stowasser is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Journalism and a Licensed Massage Therapist who successfully completed a 200 hour Hatha Yoga and Self-Awareness Teacher Training program through her teacher Anna Pittman from Blacksburg, Va.
Brittany studied under Sharon Manner, the founder of Ashrams for Autism Yoga where she obtained a 40 hour certification to work with those living with Autism and Spectrum Disorders. Inspired by her brother Joshua who lives with Autism, Brittany teaches locally in group homes, day-habilitation programs and shelters across WV. Brittany recently developed a manual for caregivers, speech pathologists, school teachers etc. called The Alchemy of Autism. She is certified to work with Children through Kidding Around Yoga and obtained her certification in pre/postnatal yoga through Asheville Yoga Center. In May 2017 she completed her 300 hour Yoga a Teacher Training in Restorative Yoga. When she isn’t teaching or practicing massage around town, she offers Bhakti yoga classes out of her home. Brittany and her husband of twelve years, Edward Stowasser along with their daughter Emery Kate, reside with their retriever mix Chip and beagle Yogi in the country in Milton, WV.
