About

Callie Tourigny is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, completing 500-hr yoga advance teacher training in 2020 in Meditation & Mindfulness; Seniors; Children; Prenatal/Postnatal; Psychology & Trauma; Yin Yoga and more at Asheville Yoga Center (AYC), a Registered Yoga School (RYS) where she did her 230-hr YTT in-person as well .

She has completed 2x Wisdom Training for postural alignment with Doug Keller; Yoga Nidra: Chronic Pain, Trauma and Stress - Level 1 Intensive 50-hr with Dr. Indu Arora; and 20-hr Ayurveda and Yoga Advance Training with James Bailey. Callie has been practicing yoga since 2006 and enjoys teaching Basics, Chair, Gentle, Kids, Parent-Child, Partner, Pregnancy, Restorative, Vinyasa Flow and Yin at Sportsclub Fitness and Wellness, and at Brookwood Church where she teaches flow and chair yoga classes. A local pediatrician office has her teaching prenatal, Mommy & Me (postnatal), and kids yoga classes. She has taught gentle, hot flow, and Bikram-style Series 26 at BK Hot Yoga for two years where she held yin workshops, special parent-child and kids yoga session along with private lessons. Callie shares the benefits by volunteer teaching at Title 1 Schools and also taught for a year in downtown Greenville for a nonprofit organization for teen girls, and on location for an after school program at Roper Mountain Science Center where she teaches science in the Observatory and Planetarium. Teaching privates and also at conferences has brought much joy to customize the sequence, asanas, and guided visualization and to share such a beneficial tool, skill and part of life. A mechanical engineer and adjunct instructor, Callie enjoys teaching people of all ages wanting to learn and have fun as her classes incorporate her theme-of-the-day that correspond to special events, observances or holidays. The awe that results from exploring what exists in our galaxy is similar to the discoveries of our inner self and beyond when we connect our body with our mind through our breath. There is no one-size-fits-all. Because we are all uniquely created, she especially loves teaching at the church where she is led by the Holy Spirit and inspired by the Word. Yoga is one way 'to be still and know God'.
