About
Carol Bryant is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Carol began practicing yoga in 2006, during a particularly challenging period in her life. By coincidence – or not – she tried a yin yoga class and instantly felt at home. The breath work, deep stretching, and inner awareness of yin helped her find peace and and spaciousness in her body, mind, and soul. After practicing yin almost exclusively for seven years, Carol realized she needed to balance her flexibility with strength, and began to explore more active yoga styles. Iyengar-based classes emphasizing alignment resonated the most strongly, and continue to be the foundation of her practice. A career music educator and performer, Carol naturally wanted to share her passion for yoga with others, and completed her 200-hour certification with Ame Wren and the Boston Yoga School in 2019. Influential teachers along her yoga journey include Tina Ramsden, Alexis Pierce, Courtney Chase, and Kari Williams, and she has attended workshops at Kripalu, Omega and elsewhere with Sudha Carolyn Lundeen, Daniel Orlansky, Todd Norian, and Nikki Costello. Carol is especially interested in yoga’s benefits for musicians and others whose asymmetrical work postures or habits create imbalances within the body. She is also dedicated to helping older adults find more freedom of movement and strength, maintaining and improving overall health, and discovering that we can actually feel better as we age.
