Danielle Atkinson

She has a passion for applying yoga philosophy and vihara. Danielle also works for the IAYT. She aims to help students deepen their practice and understanding of how embody yoga lessons in daily life off the mat. Danielle is the Education Director of for Hot Yoga Wellness International and currently lives in Toronto, Canada. As a dual citizen of Canada and Australia, she is an international educator with curriculum-writing, teaching and teacher training experience in both public and private education systems in Canada, Australia, and China. She is dedicated to providing innovative, inclusive learning opportunities that promote student growth and success. Danielle works with “opportunity youth” integrating yoga into education, rehabilitation, resilience training, and trauma-informed practices. She is committed to lifelong learning and developing programs for youth based on her continued Yoga, Ayurveda and education studies. With more than 20 years of yoga philosophy education and teaching experience, Danielle maintains a commitment to personal practice to support the development and design of engaging, experiential, and innovative yoga teacher training, mindfulness and compassion based curricula. She continues to serve as a Program Director, teacher and mentor to yoga teachers and yoga enthusiasts using a range of yoga tools including asana, pranayama, meditation, vihara, mudra, Ayurveda.
