I am so grateful that yoga found me and to teach with Breathe Yoga! When I went into my first hot yoga class a decade ago and my goal was to get Madonna arms, I never dreamed of the excavation that yoga would sculpt in my mind, body and spirit. I was a four sport athlete in high school and two sport athlete in college so the "no pain, no gain" motto etched it's way through my being as the only way to approach physical exercise and life. The practice of yoga quickly taught me another perspective. My yoga mentors have certainly challenged me physically, but more importantly beginning with Baron Baptiste and my many other beautiful teachers I have learned to be patient with myself and not rush the process of my own blossoming self. The practice of yoga has elevated me to be the best version of myself. Now, yoga is an essential element to keeping me true to my authentic self, which is a loving, compassionate teacher that has a mission to serve and care for others in our precious world. I have taught yoga classes to adults as well as individual instruction to children, teenagers and senior citizens. I am a seeker, and by that I mean that I am in constant pursuit of learning more about my passion, YOGA! I currently teach yoga classes, and also love to share restorative workshops and workshops about the mythology of the Indian culture and literature with students that want to learn more about the eight limbs of yoga. I am a High School English teacher by day, and love to incorporate my love of reading and writing with yoga and meditation. I truly enjoy interacting with everyone and have enjoyed especially working with tweens and teens and helping them develop self-confidence and improved body awareness and creating visions to cultivate their best selves. In other words, expect book clubs and writing and vision boarding yoga workshops! I am most grateful for how yoga has transformed me from the inside out in all facets of my mind, body and spirit. I am so eager to share this beautiful practice with others and to create a community of yogis that want to light up themselves and the world around them! My yoga classes are designed to cultivate a strong core and to create opportunities to connect with oneself so that students can excavate the gems within themselves so they might share the best versions of themselves with the world, all delivered with lots of love, laughter and fun!! By cultivating an awareness of the breath and connecting that to a strong core I aim to empower students with strategies such as use calming breathing, meditation and self-awareness by becoming mindful of their obstacles so that they can breakthrough them on and off of their mats!
