Deidre Cavazzi is a dance professor at Saddleback College where she is also a lead trainer in the -hour Yoga Teacher Training Program Prior to starting to teach yoga at Saddleback College in Deidre taught yoga at Santiago Canyon College as well as throughout Orange County CA Her passion is for bringing new communities to yoga as well as focusing on stress management mindfulness and injury prevention She began practicing yoga in and completed her -hour Yoga Teacher Training with Ganga White and Tracey Rich at the White Lotus Foundation Santa Barbara CA in a Yoga for Cancer Patients training at Duke Integrative Medicine Durham NC with Kimberly and Jim Carson in a Yoga for Scoliosis training with Elise Browning Miller at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco in and completed her -hour training at Be the Change yoga studio Irvine CA in January She also completed the YogaWise Yin Yoga Teacher Training with David Kim in and an MBSR training with UCSF Osher Center in fall She is trained in trauma-informed practices through the Expressive Arts Institute under Dr Cathy Malchiodi and has a background in Laban-Bartenieff fundamentals and expressive arts approaches which she utilizes in both her yoga and modern dance classes In addition to teaching yoga in the studio Deidre teaches a variety of related academic courses at Saddleback College including Philosophy of Yoga Mythology of Yoga Meditation Techniques and Training Yoga for Stress Reduction Teaching of Yoga and Fundamentals & Anatomy of Yoga She also offers yoga classes and workshops throughout the community In her free time she delights in spending time in nature curling up with a good book and rehearsing new works of choreography in the dance studio.
