Yoga is the natural evolution of my life-long pursuit of self-awareness I love yogas capacity to balance strength with flexibility and focus with perspective I believe yoga unifies the best aspects of so many other pursuits and merges them into a single salient system capable of being practiced along a spectrum of intensity levels I became a dedicated yoga student at Tri-Cities Yoga in There I practiced daily and soon trained to teach with the head instructor By I was teaching on a regular basis Since then Ive attended a multitude of workshops & classes and even opened Binghamton Yoga studio in I have a consistent daily practice and use that to inform my Vinyasa Flow and Align & Flow style classes His classes are known for high-energy and deep smiles In my free time Ive been exploring two very polar practices: Yin Yoga and AcroYoga Yin yoga is the essence of soft slow explorative movement Rarely do you leave the floor and your props You hold postures for many minutes sinking deeper & deeper into them while releasing tension beyond the muscles - into the fascia Each Yin posture feels like a short meditation and an entire practice leaves the practitioner feeling rejuvenated & glowing AcroYoga is a partner-based acrobatic-style of yoga which focuses on core strength and communication - communication with oneself and with ones partner Many people look at AcroYoga and simply think its fun or intense but the truth is that when you practice it for a sustained period of time it balances self & other in a way that no solo practice can ever do Jason maintains a blog of classes and thoughts at binghamtonyogablogspotcom as well as the Binghamton AcroYoga Facebook page which helps local yogis unite for AcroYoga jam sessions Feel free to contact him through either venue.
