About

Justine Hoang (Anjali Om) holds an E-RYT 500 designation with Yoga Alliance and currently teaches Dharma Yoga and other styles of yoga at several venues throughout Ottawa, including Adi Shesha Yoga Zone, Mountaingoat Yoga, and Upward Dog Yoga Centre.

In addition to her weekly drop-in classes, she holds workshops and intensives on a regular basis, both locally and abroad in Europe. She obtained her 200-hour certification in Hatha Yoga in 2006 from Upward Dog Yoga Studio, with Yogi Vishvketu and Chetana Panwar. Since then, she has also completed teacher training programs in Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series with David Swenson, and Acro Yoga – Levels I & II, with the Acro Yoga Montreal school. She actively seeks out new opportunities to learn and practise with other teachers and yoga communities. As a result, her style melds these numerous influences, along with her previous training in martial arts, dance and music. Regardless of the style, Justine strives to make each class resonate with insightful yogic teachings. Her mission is to help bring about a more blissful, mindful and peaceful existence to all beings through the propagation of yoga practices. Ever in awe of the countless benefits that yoga has brought to her, she is grateful for the opportunity to impart the knowledge of those gifts to others. Justine graduated from the Dharma Yoga Center’s 500-hour Life of A Yogi advanced teacher training program in October 2011, marking her as the very first Canadian teacher of the Dharma Yoga lineage. Her latest training exercise with Sri Dharma Mittra took place in August 2015, through the Life of a Yogi 800-hr teacher training program. In May 2016, Justine was granted certification in Psychic Development and Yoga Nidra, to add to her current repertoire which comprises the beginner to advanced levels of the Dharma Yoga flows. Justine’s first exposure to Sri Dharma Mittra was back in 2007, at a yoga conference. Riveted by the sheer power and magnetism of his flow and the charisma of the highly popular presenter, she became immediately hooked and has ever since been seeking out other opportunities to study with him. Justine is thrilled and honoured to be the first to bring Dharma Yoga to Ottawa and looks forward to propagating the practice throughout the local yoga community and beyond. The pivotal point came in her own yogic journey when she started to perceive her practice as an act of offering. From then onwards, a transformation started to unfold, and she was able to extend that intention of selfless service into all areas of life. She recognises the importance of daily practice to keep her in constant observance of her calling. Justine is extremely grateful to her family and friends for all their undying patience and support, both her local Ottawa yoga commmunity and Dharma Yoga family in New York City, and to all her incredible teachers/mentors, students, and fellow colleagues who have helped her along her path.
