About

Mary Liwanag is a 500 hour RYT.

She is a Jason Crandell certified vinyasa instructor. Classes include: Vinyasa, Chair, Yoga for Parkinson's Patients, Christian Devotional, Hatha and Restorative Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama. She earned a Bachelor's in Foreign Service from Georgetown University (BSFS 1984) and an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Marymount University (1995). She spent her junior year abroad reading Politics (1983) at Warwick University in Coventry, England. Though she enjoyed working as both an editor, and later, as a Registered Nurse, Mary's favorite job is teaching yoga. Learning to witness her reactions on the mat taught her that she could choose how to respond off the mat too. She strives to create a context where students can return to their center. For Mary, Earth is a school for soul work. Yoga allows the individual to work with the physical, move inward and approach the unchanging Spirit. Off the mat, you can find Mary in the garden, reading books about science and spirituality, listening to music, or walking with her German Shepherd.
