Maureen got involved in teaching Yoga after participating in an FDA Study to have two Artificial Disc Replacements in her lower back. Maureen has been teaching Hatha Yoga for over 14 years and brings to her classes, knowledge of biomechanics, detailed instruction with a deep on breathing and alignment. All her classes have an up beat energy, some Sanskrit sprinkled in along the way. There is chanting in some classes. When you leave her class you have attained balance not only in the body but in the mind. She currently holds a 4 year Certification from Loyola Marymount University in Yoga Studies. She currently has an active Private Yoga/Spiritual Counseling practice where she implements yoga asana, breathing and meditation and mindfulness to help those recovering from a major illness to chronic low back pain. Maureen also facilitates private Yoga/Spiritual retreats for personal growth. Maureen is married to an Indian man who hold a Master in Yoga Studies and is a Lead Teacher Trainer in Sivananda International Yoga Organization. She has two married children and one grandchild. Her hobbies include, music, playing harmonium, bike riding, nature and tennis.
