About
Maya has been a lifelong teacher.
As an artist and maker, she used creativity as a vehicle for change and growth with her students at art retreats and workshops. She completed her 200 RYT under the direction of Zainab Zakari and Gina Newlin to add breath and movement to her toolbox. As yoga became her main passion, she continued her training with Judith Lasater, Janet Stone, Harvey Deutch and Nicola Mosley. She completed her 500 RYT in Yoga Psychology with Ashley Turner. Through mindful asana she teaches how to flow with grace through life's challenges and channel breath into everyday living to find more ease. Maya teaches Vinyasa, Slow Flow and Restorative Yoga through a trauma informed lens. Maya has degree in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz. She’s published three books on creativity and wellness and has been featured in numerous magazines.
