I hold a Master of Science in Sports and Health Science. I am certified through ACE as a Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Health Coach. I am also certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist in Yoga and a Restorative Yoga instructor. I am currently pursuing an Aromatherapy certification. After several years in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I began teaching yoga and immediately fell in love with the way that I was able to help people in so many aspects of their physical and mental selves.
I immediately began pursuing my 200 RYT and, once complete, decided that I would pursue my 500 RYT. I found that this type of work melded nicely with my experience as a personal trainer and afforded me a new way to bring yoga into the lives of many people. While working on my Master's degree in Sports and Health Science, I used yoga research as the basis of all of my papers. I have worked extensively with the military community including active duty members, retirees, veterans, and their families. I have completed YogaFit's 100 hour Yoga Warrior programming which was developed to help those suffering from PTSD and their families.
