Rachel Allen has over a decade of experience in the expressive arts and is active in facilitating incorporating chant, drumming and movement to support empowerment at yoga studios, retreats, conferences and other gatherings regionally and nationally.
She has facilitated expressive movement and music based experiences such as kirtan regionally and nationally. Rachel has a strong passion for serving caregivers in healthcare, human services and other backgrounds experiencing compassion fatigue and working with marginalized populations. She has experience working in conjunction with non profits providing arts programs to adults with mental illness, at risk youth and facilitates a trauma informed yoga and expressive arts program with Victim Services Inc. for women survivors of rape and sexual abuse. She teaches compassion fatigue workshops and trainings to those committed to service in healthcare, behavioral health, caregivers and environmental non profits. She also partners with a domestic violence shelter and teaches yoga to incarcerated women. She is a member of Yoga Service International, Give Back Yoga and has over 200 hours of traum training from The Trauma Center in Mass. Off the Mat and Into the World, Yoga Service International and other organizations. Rachel is also a Reiki Level 3 Practitioner and a teaching Reiki Master through the Usui System in accordance with the Essential Reiki tradition and synchronizes Reiki into yoga and music for optimal vitality and health. Rachel has created and implemented a Reiki training for clinical staff focusing on self care. Rachel is known as an inspirational theme based teacher and many of her students have gone on to become teachers themselves.
