My yoga journey began in with an Ashtanga-based vinyasa practice that sparked a lifelong passion for the depth and diversity of the yoga tradition Over the decades Ive studied and practiced across a spectrum of lineages—including Iyengar Kriya and Vipassana Meditation—while maintaining a deep reverence for the structure philosophy and spiritual discipline of Ashtanga Yoga My first teacher training was under Bhavani Maki of Yoga Hanalei in —a pivotal experience that grounded me in the lineage-based roots of practice I went on to earn my -hour certification from Yoga Pod in Boulder Colorado and my -hour certification from Gina Caputos Colorado School of Yoga where I deepened my understanding of modern alignment anatomy and embodied philosophy Ive continued to study with Bhavani through advanced training and workshops over the years I began teaching yoga in and opened OmTree Shala in downtown Lawrence Kansas in My teaching blends the rhythmic intensity of vinyasa with the contemplative refinement of alignment-based practices Im known for clear instruction and a commitment to yoga as a full-spectrum life path OmTree has grown into a vibrant and supportive community grounded in integrity inquiry and presence In I launched OmTree Shalas -Hour Teacher Training Program which Ive led for over a decade In Im expanding that offering with the launch of our -Hour Advanced Training continuing my mission to support teachers in deepening their knowledge and evolving their practice from the inside out As a teacher of teachers I bring wisdom humor and rigor to the practice space My goal is to inspire others to live their yoga—not just as a physical practice but as a way of being in the world.
